Lasercut and Letraset

We used a laser-cutter to create custom stands for the placeholders at my sister's wedding. The machine precisely sliced each out from a single piece of card. I added each guest's name over the course of a couple of evenings at home, using old-school Letraset sheets to rub each letter down in foil gold.

Letterpress Printing: Placeholders for my Sister’s Wedding

My sister asked me to print up some name placeholders for her wedding next week, so Jonny and I booked a session at Williamsburg's premier letterpress studio The Arm and created a custom plate from scratch (with a little joyful Grecian flavor).

For now I'm only posting photos of the metal typography before the ink rolled, because I'd like the finished cards to be one of many nice little surprises for her (and her fiancée Li Nah) on the day itself. Thanks to Bryan and Dan for helping us out!

Marla Joy Graphics for Style Thirteen Website

2011 looks to be a very busy year indeed. My beautiful sister Ally is getting married at the end of this month, so there's lots I'm working on now before we head back to the UK.

This season Style Thirteen is introducing singer/songwriter Marla Joy as muse to designer Hendrikka Waage. At SKAGGS I created these graphics for the Style Thirteen site and e-newsletter.
